Proper configuration of these parameters directly affects firefighting efficiency and emergency response capability in forest firefighting, urban fire protection, and industrial rescue scenarios.

 

One of the fundamental parameters is the power system. Common water firefighting equipment uses gasoline engines, electric motors, or diesel engines as power sources, with power outputs typically ranging from 1.5 kW to 15 kW. Lightweight backpack units generally have lower power for single-person operation, while larger fire pumps and mobile water supply systems provide higher power for continuous and intensive firefighting tasks.

 

Flow rate and operating pressure are critical performance indicators. The rated flow rate of water firefighting equipment generally ranges from 10 L/min to 300 L/min, while working pressure typically ranges from 0.3 MPa to 8 MPa. High-pressure water mist systems operate at higher pressures, producing finer water particles that improve heat absorption efficiency and expand fire coverage.

 

Spray distance is another important technical parameter that determines operational reach. Standard straight-stream nozzles usually achieve a spray distance of 15 to 40 meters, while high-pressure firefighting systems can reach 50 meters or more. In forest or open-field firefighting scenarios, longer spray distances significantly enhance operational safety and coverage efficiency.

 

Water tank capacity also plays a key role in system performance. Backpack firefighting units typically have water tanks ranging from 10 liters to 25 liters for flexible mobility, while vehicle-mounted or mobile water supply systems can range from 500 liters to over 5,000 liters to support large-scale firefighting operations. The capacity directly affects continuous working duration.

 

In addition, weight and portability are important considerations. Lightweight backpack units generally weigh between 8 kg and 20 kg, making them suitable for extended manual operation. Larger systems may weigh several hundred kilograms or more but are usually equipped with wheeled or vehicle-mounted structures for easier transport.

 

With ongoing advancements in firefighting technology, modern water firefighting equipment increasingly includes intelligent control parameters such as automatic pressure regulation, adjustable spray modes, and remote monitoring functions, significantly improving adaptability and operational safety in complex environments.
